Tasks in your calendar
Calendar feed
Google, Outlook or Apple
See the tasks that are due to you inside Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar, alongside everything else in your day. You generate a private link, subscribe to it once in your calendar app, and it keeps itself up to date from then on.
Setting it up
Go to Settings → Calendar feed and choose Generate feed URL. Copy the address it gives you, then in your calendar app add a calendar from a URL — Google calls it From URL, Outlook Subscribe from web, Apple Calendar New Calendar Subscription. Every member can do this; it is not admin-only.
What shows up
Tasks that are assigned to you, in this organisation, that have a due date and are not yet completed. A task with a due time appears as a half-hour appointment at that time; one with only a date appears as an all-day event. Completing a task takes it out of your calendar at the next refresh.
Only the name and the date
Each event carries the task name and when it is due — nothing else. No customer, no notes, no description, no link back into Beagle. That is deliberate: it keeps the amount of information in a leaked link to a minimum.
One link per person, per organisation
Your link only ever shows your tasks — it is not a team calendar, and sharing it will not show a colleague theirs. If you work in more than one organisation, generate a separate link in each and subscribe to both.
How often it updates
Your calendar app decides, and most check every few hours rather than every few minutes — Google in particular can be slow to pick up a change. A new task is not a missing task; give it a while, or use your app's refresh if it has one.
Turning it off, or starting again
Regenerate issues a new address and kills the old one straight away — use it if you think the link has got out. Revoke switches the feed off entirely. Either way, calendars still subscribed to the old address simply stop receiving anything; remove it in your calendar app to tidy up.
Treat the link like a password
The address is the only thing standing between your task list and whoever holds it — there is no login on it, which is exactly why a calendar app can read it unattended. Anyone you send it to can see your task titles and dates for as long as it lives. Do not paste it into a shared document, a group chat, or a ticket. If you are unsure who has it, Regenerate.
It reads, it does not write
The feed is one-way. Moving, editing or deleting one of these events in your calendar changes nothing in Beagle, and the event will come back as it was on the next refresh — change the task itself instead. Tasks with no due date never appear, since there is nowhere to put them.
